DENTISTRY by john barras dds has a board certified periodontist on-staff available to take care of all of your periodontic needs. Dr. Akers goal is to make sure you have a healthy foundation to support your teeth. She focuses on your gums, roots and bones.
Our dentists will consult with our periodontist for gum disease and gingivitis. Dr. Akers can treat gum disease both surgically and non-surgically depending on the severity.
If you have a missing tooth from trauma or decay, Dr. Akers can also perform a dental implant. A dental implant will allow the dentist to place a crown over the implant restoring your natural smile.
In addition, our periodontist can perform gum surgery to get rid of gummy smiles, cover tooth roots or restore your natural gum line. Dr. Akers does both general and cosmetic dentistry work.
